I’m hearing from parents who are quarantined with their partners; they are getting antsy and want help figuring out when or how to have sex with their partners while all of their kids are home.
Hey, I see you. I hear you. This video is for you.
I begin with a bit of an anthropological story of a place called “Mangaia” where their attitudes about sex, procreation, and pleasure are VERY different from our colonialist, religious orientation.
I also share some strategies for getting busy when you can:
- Protocols
- What to say about “strange noises” One thing I didn’t say to this that is worth mentioning. Consider YOUR reaction when you taste something amazing and delicious. What’s it look or sound like? “OMG, Yuuuuum. This tastes soooo goooood” or some equivalent, right? We make strange noises even when something is good. Use this example to give kids a different, less scary perspective. It hints at the pleasure piece — a subject you can dive into later when kids are ready to hear it. Make sense?
